Our Mission
"We exist to make it simple for people to find and follow Jesus."
We are Bridge-Builders who WORSHIP, CONNECT and SERVE to make disciple-making disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our Strategy
Our strategy is HOW we accomplish our passion. We do this by distributing The Church across lanes of Our Region, Our World, and The People of BVC through Encounters, Groups, and Teams.
We’re inspired and committed to worship Jesus in all we do.
We are building a life-giving community through iron-sharpens-iron friendships.
We’re called and empowered to make a difference together.
Our Core Values
Our values SHOW our passion.
When we follow our mission, this is what it looks like. That's why our values form an acrostic P.A.S.S.I.O.N.
God can do more in one more in one moment in a person’s life than we could do in a lifetime.
It’s hard to define authentic, but we know it when we see it. We do all we can to display it in all we do.
We will never stop pursuing those who are far from God. Connecting lost people to Jesus is at the heart of all we do.
We are intentional about making disciples who make disciples.
We lock arms and do life together. We help others when they need it. We speak life.
Life is best lived with an open hand.
Everyone has a next step. It’s our job to help people take theirs as the discover, understand, and pursue Jesus.
What We Believe
Our beliefs are the FOUNDATION for our passion.
Jesus was born of a virgin birth, lived a sinless life, died on the Cross, rose from the dead, and is alive today. It’s only through a relationship with Jesus, available to all who put their trust in Him, that we are able to be saved and reconciled to God. John 3:1-16; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:1-8
Each of us have a sinful nature yet as we confess our sin to Jesus and commit to follow him by turning away from self-centered living and learning from him how to live, we’ll discover what it’s truly like to be free. Romans 6:1-11; 8:13; Hebrews 12:14
We believe the Holy Spirit is alive and working in the same ways he was in Jesus and his first followers. We believe the Holy Spirit gives gifts including but not limited to tongues for each believer, prophecy, healing and the like, and empowers us for their use. Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12-14; James 5:14-16
We believe God has given each person unique gifts and callings that fit and work together so that we can reach the world. Ephesians 4:11-13
The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct. 2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13 and 2 Peter 1:21
We believe that the resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17, Romans 8:23, Titus 2:13 and 1 Corinthians 15:51,52
We believe that when He does, that God will finally transform all things, and that every person will face the truth about his/her life. We will either live fulfilled in a relationship with Christ in heaven or suffer the consequences of an existence without him in hell. Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 21-22
